Description: He is completely blind, but relies on the force to see. As a result he cannot use light or dark force powers. He was raised in Keren on Naboo in a merchant family and was recruited to the academy after a jedi knight felt the presence of the force in him. He suffers from feelings of inadequacy and inferiority as a result of his inability to learn advanced force techniques. He hides most of his face, save his eyes, in a blue/grey light jedi robe. His eyes are white, but shine with the force. He is a limber, skinny build, but has toned arms from rigorous training.
Lore:
The water bruised his back. The cold falls of Yavin IV always elicited memories for Aves. The sounds of the academy: Bustling pupils, carriers setting down to unload, the faint, mechanical whir that seemed to pervade the entirety of the tower, and of course the high-pitched sound of a training saber. It had always made his teeth hurt.
Aves was contemplating his next move, his concentration aided by the waterfall. Would they send a search party? Or Would the council, in their wisdom, foresee his departure? He could only guess. He could hear the whir of the academy even now at the foot of a great waterfall, miles away from the building. His feelings toward the tower ran deep; it was as if it were sentient and had chosen to carve out a little niche in Aves' brain, making him constantly aware of it. The past three years had been hard.
When he entered the academy he was constantly lifted by a new hope. Developing his force powers was all he could do back in Keren, where his blindness kept him from leading a normal life. The opportunity to train with the students and masters of the academy was his ticket out of a life of dependence and servitude, and he eagerly left his homeworld to begin lessons.
Though the first few years were tough, he was actually able to master a few of the basic core force abilities. His "sight" was improved and he was able to feel an objects presence from a fair distance away, whether it stood on the ground or hovered in the air. But after his 3rd year, his progress seemed to wane. It was like he hit a wall which he simply couldn't scale, and the other students soon surpassed him.
Another year passed, and with every day he became gloomier. Surely the masters had noticed. There were so many students that multiple students were assigned to a single master. It meant that keeping up with students -especially for the newer masters- could sometimes be difficult. Despite her large body of followers, Master Kana always had time for Aves. Maybe that was one of the things that he hated the most about her.
Yes, being in the academy was no different than being on Naboo. He was shown special attention, even when his blindness was no longer a huge detriment. He adored Kana for her ability to disarm him emotionally -her wisdom and kind words were invaluable to Aves' perceived self-worth. But at the same time he scorned her for her favor of him. So he left. It was one of the things he did best.
Aves took in a large sigh as he let the waters rush over him. What would be his next move?
